The Town Hall of Montedinove was built in the late twelfth century, and consisted of two buildings separated by a street (“rua”) very close, called “Palace Pretorale” and “Palace Priory”. During the period of the French, in the early nineteenth century, the two buildings were united and became private homes. In 1817, finished the occupation of Napoleon’s troops, the institutional structure returned. The Town Hall is the result of subsequent reconstruction: the facade with a porch and bell tower jutting are the result of a reconstruction during the second half of the eighteenth century. In the tower of the building are mounted two bells and more turns out to be the oldest in the country (in 1330) as evidenced by an inscription in gothic letters.
