Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Scalelle

Santa Maria delle Scalelle is a medieval church, located outside the town of Roccafluvione. Inside it was kept the original statue of Our Lady of Santa Maria delle Scalelle, then stolen. Starting from the eleventh century, the whole area of Fluvione came under the jurisdiction of Farfa, which favored a significant economic, cultural and above all religious, as the numerous churches including those of Marsyas ( crypt VIII – IX sec . ), Casebianche , Scalelle , Pastina and Pedara , which are of particular artistic value ( sec . XIII – XIV ).
